Cambridgeshire England, 9th-11th century Ad. Bronze, in condition as found.  Size 7 1/2. 4.5mm width band with low rounded face. Made with a core filling the inside which distributed the flowing metal and allowed for slower cooling. The core was then laboriously removed by hand and the inside of the ring was polished. Remnants of the core are evident inside the ring. Surface with fine glossy patina from burial. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
