White metal (lead?) over 1 1/8” (1.19”) height. Iconic heart form with cusped top. Broad borders enclosing an incised trefoil. The top with a nub, perhaps for tying to the deceased. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface oxidation from burial, with certificate of authenticity. Rare.
