Forged iron, 10 1/4" length with leaf shaped diamond section pick opposite a rounded face hammer head. Extended oval eye as found on Viking battle axes. Originally mounted on a haft of about 36"-40" length. Used for ground breaking, particularly in Winter when burials required graves broken through frozen ground. Stable excavated condition.
