10th-11th century, silvered bronze, over 5/8” width. Formed as a broad crescent representing the moon with raised edges. The field with low relief lattice and a central nub obscured by wear and texture from burial. Worn, from the time of its use, perhaps ritually. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored and on a modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
