Iron, 4 1/2" in height. Small size for the Icelandic pony. Scalloped edge plate in the Medieval form with six nail configurations, 3/3 for “fiddle key” nails. The nails project below the plate and so the horse stands on the nails, not the shoe. The shoe is complete without significant wear for that reason. Exceptional for form and preservation. Professionally conserved excavated condition.
