Forged iron. Common form, slightly over 2 ¾” length with swelled medial striking bar and scroll tip back bars. Both back bars carefully broken partially through to render it ineffective for mortal use. Some surface texture but evidently largely protected, probably by burial in a cloth covering. An example of Viking burial goods where metal items are broken or bent for use in the next world.
