Intricately forged example of the Viking blacksmith’s art with the striker bar decorated in herring bone bands. The top tail folded over with a faceted back finger loop. 1 7/8” length. It is interesting, though not studied to our knowledge, that nowhere else in Viking blacksmithing are these subtle and sometimes whimsical details incorporated.
