Intricately forged example of the Viking blacksmith’s art with the striker bar decorated in in lineal bands. The top tail folded over with double raised transverse bands and ending with a scroll return. 2 1/8” length. It is interesting, though not studied to our knowledge, that nowhere else in Viking blacksmithing are these subtle and sometimes whimsical details incorporated.
