Circular section with reeded edge, 3.2mm thick. Just under 3/4" outside diameter. The use of beard rings, also worn in the hair around the ears, by Vikings is well documented though very few genuine examples survive. This example is unique in our experience, made of bronze, hammered to a thin sheet, and rolled to this form resulting in a hollow ring. The justification for this laborious process is undoubted to reduce weight which evidently was a problem causing the rings to fall out.  Professionally refurbished with the pure silver overlay restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
