The base with fine cursive W H Horstman & Sons / Philadelphia. Brass hilt with plumed helmet pommel. Fine reeded bone grip with single shallow surface flake. Original scabbard complete. The mounts with a few dings and the leather surface worn. Rarely encountered with military motifs and pedigree maker. Classic Civil War example as used by both sides. The Indian Princess with known Southern usage.
