16th-early 17th century, the period of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. Gilt bronze, with 2.8mm rounded face band expanded to the shoulders. Stepped hexagonal bezel with a quartered armorial devise. Dating to the period of the Reformation when religion was, to say the least, a volatile cultural boiling point. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.128 bottom right for an example similar, but with floral bezel motif.
