The field with triple circles repeated within chevrons. The field beyond with distinctively different motifs. One with hatched motif and the other with a tear or leaf shape. That dissimilarity evidently had a spiritual significance, now lost. Vikings relied on the heavens and celestial bodies for guidance when sailing.
