Copper wire wrapped grip. 36" straight d.e. blade inscribed IHN SOLINGEN, each side in the broad fuller. Dating to the period of Spanish colonial adventurism this sword was produced in Spain utilizing an imported (German) blade as was common throughout Europe and the British isles. It is of the type which served in the Caribbean as well as Mexico and the American southwest. 36" length blade.
