The guard locked to the blade with two wedges as made. In its rare original leather scabbard with hand-stitched seam, copper gusset secured belt loop and field repaired tip. Probably served against France in the 1861 invasion attempting to seat Maximillian I. Untouched, with the immense charm that makes these Spanish colonial swords so popular.
