Red terracotta. 7 1/2” height with characteristic rudimentary body. Well modeled face with hood. Outstretched arms. Some wear and encrustation, primarily to the back, from burial but well detailed face and a good early figure. Astarte was the mother goddess embodying good and balanced by Baal the Destroyer.
