Current pattern from a group produced 1947-70 by F E  & J P HOPKINSON  CUTLERS EST 1700 AD SHEFFIELD ENGLAND and so marked on the 32” double edged bald. Both sides of the blade are profusely decorated with Scottish thistle and armorial motifs, noticeably omitting a royal cipher, indicating a Scottish Regiment. Brass basket hilt with red felt liner and black composition grip. Blade with light gray patina and remnants of congealed preservative. Hilt excellent for the period.
