Used by Senators and Governors in Roman provinces to vote on local matters such as taxes, appropriations, and local laws. Bronze, 9 1/4” length with a bird (dove?) modeled in full relief on staff with ring base. The medial with rhomboid expansion. Well detailed with fine patina.
