ROMAN SORCERER’S RING, 1ST CENTURY BC-1ST CENTURY AD, SIZE 9 1/4

Gilt bronze, size 9 1/4. 5.1mm round face band flared to the finely banded and hatched 
shoulders. Lenticular bezel inscribed with the lituus, the wand of the augurs who were seers of the Roman pagan religion. They were wearable to predict the future by ”reading” the flight of birds in an area prescribed by the lituus. Particularly well preserved with the 24karat gold surface restored. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
