Gilt bronze, size 9 1/2. 2.4mm rounded face band flaring to the scalloped bezel which is inscribed with a hexagram. These ordinarily are cut with random marks to serve as a signet, representing the owner’s signature. This example had specifically crafted ciphers as found on the rings of sorcerers (seers), known in ancient Rome as augurs. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored.
