ROMAN LADY’S RING, C.100-300AD, SIZE 6 ½

Gilt bronze, size 6 1/2 with 2.1mm rounded face band flaring to the shoulders. Lozenge shaped bezel probably representing the “evil eye”. It was believed that the evil eye or evil glance could cause misfortune and that it was necessary to employ protection in the form of an amulet or ring which could repel the evil.  Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
