33 1/2" length with slightly tapered haft with seamless hide segment as found on assegai sockets below the head. Head oval in profile and section of relatively small proportions, perhaps dating it to the early Shaka reformation period C.1820. Wonderful age character. Deep lustrous patina. The head with linear checks to one side and light transverse abrasions from use.
