From the Noble Fane family, preserved at Fulbeck Hall, Lincolnshire England. About 41”-42” square with geometric/stylized floral motif in bright color on fine handwoven linen. Folded and creased as stored with minor damages but very sound with colors bright. Yantras are designs from the Tantric traditions representing specific gods. They were used to invoke blessing, assistance, and protection and used in a variety of ways including on the floor, as personal wraps and banners. This example came from the contents sale of Fullbeck Hall in October 2002, probably brought back from the Indian Mutiny of 1857
