Hardwood hilt as highly stylized figure of Garuda, the consort of Vishnu. Fretted and engraved white metal mendak. 18 1/4" straight narrow d.e. blade of thick rounded section with figured forte. Hardwood scabbard with finely figured throat and linear grained sheath. Very old small chip to the throat and short checks to the tip. The blade with great age and mottled pattern welded surface texture. Used to execute a subject in the kneeling position with shoulders forward. The kris is plunged between the left shoulder blades into the heart.
