Mahdist War period. 18 7/8” tip to tip, with two 7 1/2” double-edged jambiya blades forming an S curve. Each blade decorated both sides overall with Thuluth script, specific to the followers of the Mad Mahdi. Bone grip with shaped ends and center wrap of lashed leather. Original scabbards covered in Nile crocodile hide with curved tips emulating claws. The stitching sound and tight. Blades with medium patina, and crisp decoration.
