RARE COPPER VIKING RING, C.900-1050 AD, SIZE 12 3/4

Rare large size 12 3/4. Broad 7.6mm width with rounded face. Made by the lost wax process. Mottled red/brown patina. Vikings were expert metallurgists. The use of pure copper is rare and suggests a supernatural significance as alloys were much more durable. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword.
