The hilt and scabbard throat made of swamp elephant molar. 13 3/8” blade of contrasting pattern welded steel with bright nickel rich layers floating among the base iron. The scabbard shaft sheathed in fine relief embossed (repoussé) and unusually, undented. Intricately detailed gold or gilt mendak set with eight faceted stones, probably low grade diamonds. Exceptional throughout.
