Civil War period and construction exactly as with Civil War crutches. Made in three pieces with saw split upright, contoured arm rest and cross grip.  All hand carved, not machined. About 35” length, for a boy of about 4 foot height. Boys as young as 10 fought for the Confederacy. These may have served such a young volunteer or possibly a civilian causality. In either case, most likely of Southern origin and use.  Some wear with remnants of old label.  Pair.
