14 3/8” length made from cassowary bone, specifically to kill an unfaithful husband! Shaped with a tapered blade for 2/3 its length and showing age. Unfaithful husbands were killed by their wife’s brother and the dagger left in place as a marker for justice and thus, no retribution was warranted from the victim’s family. Sometimes decorated with feathers or basket weave, this example was used as made as evidenced by its uniform glossy patina.
