Italian, 15th century. Bronze, 1 ½” modeled in full relief as a sea shell with suspension loop above. Made to hang in a row from the reins of a charger and would jingle and clank drawing attention as well as warning pedestrians. Probably gilt originally. Good patina and could be worn.
