MEDIEVAL CHRISTIAN RING, 5TH-8TH CENTURY, SIZE 5 ½

Gilt bronze, size 5 ½ with 1.9mm deeply rounded face band flaring to the radiant engraved shoulders. Raised circular bezel cut with a cross within a circle. The engraving applied after the ring made, probably by the owner. Early Christian period where most of the populus were adherents to the pagan traditions and while Christianity was legal, it was still persecuted in the provenances. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
