MALAY GOLOK

Used both as a jungle knife and weapon of war. See Stone page 249. Heavy 12 3/8" blade of ribbed back wedge section, well forged with distinct linear lamination indicative of pattern welded construction. Crisp with smooth gray patina. Large wood grip, flared at the base, with large lobed terminal reminiscent of the Malay kris. Hilt shows dark patina with medium encrustation and some abrasions from use. An eminently capable weapon which in skilled hands could easily take a mans head off in a single stroke.
