Founded Baltimore, 1872, during the financial stress following the Civil War flooded the job market with veterans unable to find work. Well made in the general militia pattern with a 28 1/8" plated blade (minor flaking at the ricasso only) and scrolled guard as found on the M.1840 Medical Officer’s Sword, Reterson #124. Oval section bone grip and fully modeled eagle pommel. Plated scabbard with elegant high relief decorated mounts. Impressive.
