Meiji Period, before 1912. 4 3/4” diameter with the delicately formed body. The bowl deeply dished with recurved profile and raised foot. The cover shallower, repeating the profile. Dark green outer with turtles on stylized water in true gold. Turtles represented a long life and a gift of such a bowl would convey that wish to the recipient. Excellent throughout with very minor blemishes as typical.
