Meiji Period for soup or rice. C.1880-10. 4 3/4" diameter. Bowl of rounded form with flared lip.  Flared foot and grip. Black body color inside and out. The top is decorated in thick gold conifer sprigs and fruit. All gold decoration is true gold in a lacquer matrix. Produced by the true lacquer (not paint) process which takes weeks of layering and drying. Additional details to the purchaser. A few small flaws to the finish as expected for its age.
