ITALIAN STILETTO, 18TH CENTURY

Dating to the second half of the 18th century with 7 ½” flattened diamond section blade, characteristically thick and sharply tapered for thrusting. Recurved guard and fluted ebony grip. Lapped seam metal scabbard, contemporary, but of lesser quality. Made for use with it but not of the same quality. Hilt and scabbard show white “manor house” paint spatter from having been displayed wall mounted.
