21 ¾” T back blade. Gilt copper hilt with fine scrolling foliage decoration throughout. Black cloth covered scabbard with matching fine relief decorated mounts. The tip mount with a bird’s head (ibis?) lying on its back in natural pose. Fine patina to the hilt and mounts with remnants of gold overlay. Blade and scabbard excellent for the period. Exceptional example.
