North Indian-Nepalese. Iron hilt with knuckle bow and broad dished pommel with pierced top ring. The hilt chiseled overall in foliage and flowers. 24” blade with the iconic down turned expanded scalloped tip. The blade chiseled overall with foliage, fighting elephants, tiger, nobles and gopis. The kora was a primary weapon for early Gurkhas and tribes in Nepal and North India. Earliest known combat examples are from the mid-18th century.
