Late 19th century. Finely chased elegantly decorated brass hilt, originally gilt. Lion head terminal cross guard. the right langet with crossed swords and lances, the left with an armorial device. Oak foliage decorated knuckle bow and fully modeled lion head pommel with inset red eyes and mane down the backstrap. Fine wire wrapped checkered leather grip. 30 ¾” piped back blade with raised false edge in excellent polish. Fine example in excellent preservation.
