3 1/2" width with finely sculpted full relief figure of a naked boy riding a swan with his hand at its throat. The swan figures in Greek mythology and later Roman, centered about the story of Leda, who is raped by Zeus in the form of the swan. Related stories (myths) include males disguised as Leda avenging the act on the swan. This fine sculpture is from the array of interpretations of that response. On Plexiglas display stand.
