Massive proportions with 45 1/2" blade. Bronze cross guard, straight with swelled medial and expanded terminals. Bronze wheel form pommel with raised center. Black leather covered grip of tapered form with double banded medial dividing the hand positions. Wonderful age character with rust including some localized heavy pitting suggesting that it was made for wall hanging, perhaps above a tomb or wall of a baronial home in a damp environment. The bronze with surface corrosion as well. The pommel made in two pieces as were some originals, and a little dented each side. Great genuine age character and a superb substitute for the nearly impossible to own original.
