20 1/2” height. Iron head, with crescent form bit and large complex back spike with a central point on the crescent bolster. Crescent form bit and tapered fore spike. Decorated with stylized foliage, with brown patina and uniform stable light oxidation. Iron ferrules to the haft with center covered in Nile crocodile skin. The Nile crocodile was sacred to the Dervish followers of the Mahdi.
