Gilt brass hilt with large globular pommel. Faceted knuckle bow and cross guard. Double shell guards with high raised edges, the left, hinged and engraved with cursive officers initials, L.W. Wire wrapped grip. Hilt shows some original gilt, primarily inside the shells and thick original preservative. 29 1/2" broad fullered straight, spadroon form blade, unmarked, in original blade seat, shows some bright finish, mostly smooth brown with a little pitting toward the point.
