Very similar to Neumann 302.S. Type which saw service in the American Revolution and French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. 28” broad s.e. blade with a slightly raised false edge. First third decorated with characteristic French foliage and military trophies. Just remnants of gold to the decoration. Balance of the blade smooth with some old light pitting only toward the point. Brass hilt with long reverse langets in the Eastern taste. Wire wrapped leather covered grip with a few small wormholes, negligible. Fine uniform age character.
