Gilt brass hilt with broadly reeded edge boat shaped guard. Faceted knuckle bow and cross guard. Plumed helmet form pommel. Silver wire wrapped grip, complete with a few wires shifted from shrinkage. Hilt retains considerable gold overlay, particularly to the inner guard. Historic example of the model specific to the Napoleonic Wars, sometimes referred to as the "back from Egypt" pattern.
