Captured from Napoleonic forces and refurbished for Prussian use. Reissued as the Prussian M.1818. One piece brass hilt with ribbed grip. 23 1/2" curved wedge section blade. Original brass mounted leather scabbard with both mounts (minor dents) and considerable original black finish to the leather. The hilt wit small flat on the pommel where the French ordnance mark has been polished. Blade back with evidence of cross polish in the inscription area only indicating removal of the light etched arsenal and date marks. Blade surface lightly repolished at the time and remaining in that condition.
