Pattern imported for use by Confederate officers and upon which the US 1850 pattern is based. 29 ¾” curved broad and narrow fullered blade with Klingenthal markings (no date) to the back. Brass hilt with side loop and wire wrapped horn grip. Blade shows old light oxidation-never cleaned with about excellent. Replaced in France by the 1845 pattern, these were over a generation past retirement and available in France. Many were imported for use by Confederate Infantry officers.
