A fine example of the Viking smith’s skill and whimsey. Forge iron 3 1/8” length plus the suspension ring. Lineal configuration with striker bar decorated both sides with a hatched band and one side with stylized monster head terminal. Circular finger stall supported by curved buttresses. Original suspension ring intact and movable. Very elaborately executed.
