Skillfully forged iron, 6 5/8” height. Circular socket with the top flared fore and aft for added stability. Elegant bearded bit with a slightly curved back. These were both thrown, as did the Franks, and used in hand for cracking shields. Excavated, probably a water find, and professionally conserved with quite crisp detail.
