Late 18th-early 19th century. 21 5/8” length with 12 ¾” barrel in two stages. The flared muzzle with decorated brass band and three brass floral panels inlaid below. Matching bands to the breech and third point, flanking the octagonal section which is inlaid with nine further foliate brass panels. A further matching panel to the tang. Two broad engraved brass barrel bands. Wood full stock with profuse decoration in inlaid brass wires and piques, bone diamonds and lentils and red piques, apparently complete. Brass foliate side plate and trigger guard. Banana form lock chiseled in matching foliage and with brass foliate frizzen spring plate. Iron ram rod. Fine elegant proportions.
