Hilt decorated throughout in gold koftgari in foliage and geometry patterns with minor wear only. 33” blade with slightly raised rectangular ricasso, triple narrow fullers, and three punch clusters to the tight forte. The blade probably watered steel with evidence of lamination. The surface with gray mottled patina, and isolated black staining with minor defects. Swans (Hamasa) are mentioned in the Hindu Epic The Ramayana and are the vehicle of four Hindu Gods, and thus spiritual icons.
